Best way to get out of bed (or off the Chiropractic table) without straining your low back

Hello everyone,

I recorded a video today to show you the best way to get out of bed (or off the Chiropractic or Massage table) to avoid low back strain.  This is also a great technique for you if you are pregnant, which, in this video I happen to be 🙂
Please use this technique when you wake up in the morning and next time you are in the office to avoid irritating your low back after your awesome adjustment or massage.

Snow Shovelling the Safe Way – CTV features Dr. Michelle Campbell

Dr. Michelle was the local expert on CTV London news yesterday in a clip about snow shovelling.

Here are some more tips and tricks to stay healthy during the winter, aka snow shovelling, season:

Be PREPARED: Ensure your body is functioning well to begin with. Have your spine checked by a Chiropractor.  The better functioning your body is, the less risk you have for injury.

It is important to warm up! Even a brisk walk for 5 – 10 minutes can help the body to be prepared for lifting and pushing all of that heavy snow.

Use a light-weight and ergonomic shovel.

Wear boots with treads to help to prevent a slip and fall.

Put a lubricating spray on your shovel so that snow doesn’t stick to it. It will make it easier for the snow to be pushed off of it.

Push the snow instead of lifting it.

If you do have to lift the snow, use smaller loads more frequently to help to prevent injuries. Be sure to lift with your legs, keeping your spine neutral and core tight.

If you do have an injury, be sure to get in to your Chiropractor sooner than later. It is easier to fix an injury right away when it happens, so don’t delay getting yourself looked at.

Happy Snow Shovelling!

My favourite ankle / foot / calf stretches

Hi everyone!

Do you have foot pain first thing in the morning when you step down?  Do your ankles click, or are they weak and uncomfortable?  Do you have poor ankle mobility in general?

Check out my video below to review some of my favourite ankle / foot / calf stretches.

As always, getting your body assessed by a Chiropractor is key to understanding any dysfunctions or imbalances and remember never to push a stretch or exercise into pain.

Let me know if you have any questions!  I’m here to help!

Happiness and success … is it grounded in the details?

Hi everyone!

Details, details, details … it is all about details … we have all heard this before.

Recently, I have had some reminders about how excellence is all in the details.  Details and the little things matter! It still amazes me how little actions, consistently over time, can produce incredible results.  Success isn’t in the big 1 or 2 things, it is in the little things leading up to those big 1 or 2 things.  Check out the below video where I share some events that happened to me personally, as well as some positive patient responses and how they achieved them.

Happiness and success may be more simple to achieve than you think ….

Watch my video below to hear my thoughts.

Have an amazing day,

Dr. Michelle on CTV news as the local expert

Last week, CTV asked me to do another interview, but this time, the interview was on “tech neck”.  This head forward and down posture happens to a lot of students and people who look down at an electronic device all day, or people who constantly sit at a desk.

Click the picture below to watch the clip that played on the news last week 🙂

Hello my friends!

The video below is my favourite spinal mobility exercise.  I do this exercise 3- 4 times per week even without any symptoms, but you could definitely do it daily or more than once daily, if you are experiencing symptoms.  It is amazing for low back, neck and mid back tightness.  Check it out and let me know what you think!

Contact me if you or someone you know is experiencing a health problem and want to know if Chiropractic admin@campbellcc.comcan help.  I would love to be a part of your health team!
